W.M. Grace Companies was founded in 1966 by W.M. “Bill” Grace. As a General Contractor, Bill believed there was a better way to meet a client’s needs in construction and development. His idea of bringing all trades together under one roof was prescient yet seen as radical at the time. The most professional people in our industry were invited to join the team and within 10 years we used the Design/Build process to construct and develop retail, casinos, and hotels in more than 24 states. Over the past 50 years, we have built or developed over 300 projects totaling more than 60 million square feet. W.M. Grace Companies has worked with retailers such as Walmart, Harkins, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Fry’s, Safeway, Ross, AMC 24, Marshalls, Office Max, and Bashas’, to name a few. Today, Bill’s son, Howard Grace is continuing Bill’s legacy, leading the company that is owned and operated by the Grace family. Together the siblings currently own, manage, and lease over two million square feet of retail properties, not including their ownership in both industrial and multi-family products. 

W.M. Grace Companies currently has more than a dozen projects in the development phase from neighborhood grocery, to spec industrial, and multi-family. 

The combined talents of in-house architects, estimators, project managers, leasing agents, and property managers make us equip to handle all aspects of the development. Furthermore, our business strategy is to own a large percentage of our developments for the long term. This ensures that each W.M. Grace development project will be a quality investment to meet the needs of today’s competitive real estate market. W.M.
